I am the 2nd owner of this 1973 porsche 914. I have owned it about 25 years and it has been garage kept between both owners. This has never been a primary car only driven for pleasure until the past year when we decided my husband should drive it to work (he does not drive it everyday). It is great on gas. It has a 1.7l engine. It has the targa top that comes off and goes into the trunk. This car gets asked about alot because there are not too many on the road. It is a fun little car. I had the engine rebuilt several years back by Street & Sand Toys out of Ft. Lauderdale and before I even got the car back I got pregnant and could never drive it unless I had a sitter which was rare. I always had to drive the bigger car that the child car seat could fit in. I since have had 2 more babies and my husband and I decided that we would like to trade for a truck (preferably one good on gas). This car is worth around $7500.00. I am relisting this jewel and have added a Buy It Now Price.If you are a Porsche enthusiast, you know that the 1973 and 1974 are most sought after years of these mid engine classics. To find one in this kind of condition is rare and a great investment. Most of them have been chopped for the race track or modified and trashed over the years. You could use this car as a daily driver, if you wanted. It has 52,834 original miles with no rust to speak of. The car is 36 years old and does have some minor corrosion but nothing serious and no rust in the "hell hole". I am including some under shots and trunk shots with the carpet and padding removed. Just look at the interior, it is in excellent condition! There are no rips, tears or cracks. The carpet is original but the floor mats are after market. Dash pad is cracked and the seat cushions are split. New brakes, emergency brake needs to be reconnected. Tires are good. Runs well and car is in good shape. Welcome, you are bidding on a 1975 Porsche 914 2.0 in great original condition. This car has spent its whole life in California and has very minimal rust. Car has been stored properly for 25 years. It was last registered in 1984 and is no longer in the dmv system. The only rust i've found on the car is in the usual trunk area, and its minimal as seen in photo. Car is complete and has great lines and shows no evidence of ever being hit or in an accident. Car will need a battery, tires and tune up to get running. Interior is in great shape, probably the best I have seen in one of these cars. Carpets and seats are very good, dashboard has cracks. Car has been repainted red and was originally metallic green. Porsche intended the 914, which it developed in concert with Volkswagen and Karmann, to be its entry into the low-priced market while at the same time replacing VW's Type 2 Karmann-Ghia. Power for the volume production Project 914 came from VW's 1,679 cc Type 411 four, mid-mounted for enhanced balance and performance. Porsche bought 914 bodies directly from Karmann and took them to Stuttgart to be assembled with single overhead camshaft six-cylinder 1,991cc engines with two 3-barrel Weber carbs from the 911T. The suspension also was something of a departure from Porsche practice with semi trailing arms and coil springs at the rear and MacPherson struts and lower wishbones with torsion bars at the front. With 125 horsepower and the 5-speed Porsche transmission the performance of the wonderfully balanced 914/6 was a revelation. This exchanger fits ALL 914-4 engines. When it comes to stainless steel 914 exchangers, the designations of 1.7/1.8/2.0 ONLY refer to the muffler and hanger, not the engine. This exchanger requires a 1.7/1.8 muffler & hanger. The only components that have to match up are the muffler, heat exchangers, and muffler hanger.
