Passat models were completely redesigned in 2006, with more power across the line. The engine for the base and 2.0T models is a 200-horsepower, turbocharged, direct-injected 2.0L four-cylinder. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with a six-speed automatic available. With the manual, the Passat can dash to 60 mph in only 6.9 seconds and has EPA fuel economy ratings of 23 city, 32 highway. 3.6L models come with a 280-horsepower, 3.6L narrow-angle V6 engine and a six-speed automatic and are capable of hitting 60 mph in only 6.6 seconds.
