2007 Hyundai Azera Review

The Azera is Hyundai's entry in the large luxury sedan market, and it remains one of the best appointed sedans in its class. With standard steering wheel mounted audio controls, automatic headlight control, power seats and XM satellite radio, the Azera delivers in most areas. It even boasts an air quality control system that monitors humidity and outside pollutants on its standard dual zone climate control system.

The Azera is powered by a 263 h V6 which is one of the more powerful six-cylinder engines in its class. The V6 is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode. Independent suspension all around and front and rear stabilizer bars completes the powertrain package.

Standard safety features include electronic brake distribution, stability and traction controls, fog lights, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, active head restraints, automatic headlights, front air bags with occupant classification system, front and rear seat side air bags, as well as front and rear side curtain air bags (for a total of eight).

The optional Limited trim level includes upgraded 17" wheels and tires, chrome exterior moldings, heated leather seats, carpeted floor mats, more wood grain interior bits, an electroluminescent instrument cluster, and a power rear sunshade.

Opt for the most expensive option package and get a power sunroof, Infinity audio system with in-dash 6-disc CD changer, power tilt/telescopic steering column with memory, power adjustable pedals, rain-sensing wipers, drivers seat memory, power folding side mirrors with memory and integrated turn signal indicators. Equipping an Azera in such a manner totals just over $30,000.

Though not as well known as some of its rivals, the Azera provides a very upscale driving experience for thousands less.
Hyundai has added a few new features on the up-level Azera Limited for 2007, in addition to making XM satellite radio standard for all trim levels starting with the 2007.5 model year. These new Limited features include a revised "Clear Vision" electroluminescent instrument cluster, enhanced steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and available exterior mirror mounted LED turn signals. see less
