Both a compact hatchback and a sedan are available on the 2007 Hyundai Accent, with two trims being offered on the hatchback and one on the sedan. All Accents are powered by a 110-horsepower, 1.6L in-line four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing that makes 106 ft-lbs of torque. When coupled with the five-speed automatic, the Accent accelerates with reasonable verve. A four-speed automatic is optional across the board.

Some of the standard features worth noting on the base GS hatchback are dual-speed intermittent windshield wipers, a rear spoiler, and a 60/40 split rear seat that enhances versatility. An eight-way adjustable cloth driver's seat allows for adequate legroom.
