Launched in 2004, the Dodge Magnum is a versatile vehicle that can be both high-performance street king and practical family truckster. Four engines are available, starting with the 200-horsepower 2.7L V6 (standard on the rear-wheel-drive wagon) and the 250-horsepower 3.5L multi-displacement V6 (available on the base vehicle, standard on the all-wheel-drive SXT). Two Hemi engines, one a 5.7L multi-displacement V8 with 340 horsepower and the other a 420-horsepower 6.1L V8, complete the spectrum.

All-wheel drive is available with SXT and RT trims for those looking for added sure-footedness.

The usual assorted options, such as navigation, a sunroof, a rear video system, side airbags, and dual zone automatic temperature control, allow for further customization.

The Magnum's rear liftgate and 60/40 split-folding rear seat provides space and flexibility to carry both passengers and cargo. With the rear seat up the Magnum comfortably seats five people and has 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seat folded down the Magnum offers 71.6 cubic feet of utility.
The three-year-old Dodge Magnum remains largely unchanged from the 2006 model year. New options on the rear wheel drive Magnum include 17-inch aluminum machined wheels, 18-inch aluminum chrome clad wheels (also available on the rear-wheel-drive RT), body color molding, front and rear floor mats, and an enhanced convenience group with dual zone automatic temperature control. The same convenience group is now offered on the all-wheel-drive SXT as well, and the Road/Track Performance Group is available on the rear-wheel-drive RT. It adds showy 20-inch chrome clad aluminum wheels, heavy duty brakes, modified suspension and steering, dual zone auto temperature control, among other equipment, for slightly less than $3,000. see less

Sharing platforms and powertrains with the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans, the Magnum wagon strikes an inimitable pose with its wide track and sharply tapered roofline. For 2007, Magnums equipped with the optional 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 can be upgraded with a Road/Track Performance Group that includes performance-tuned suspension, braking, and steering, 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, and 245/45ZR20 all-season performance tires. R/T models also get standard Sirius satellite radio and all trims get an automatic oil-change alert system and sunscreen privacy glass. Eight new colors are available, including TorRed. Base SE (and rear-wheel-drive-only) Magnums have a 2.7-liter V-6 rated at 190 horsepower; next up is a 3.5-liter V-6 and 250 horsepower -- available in the mid-level STX and with or without all-wheel drive. Both V-6 engines come with four-speed automatic transmissions. The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 offers 340 horsepower in R/T models and comes with a five-speed automatic and cylinder deactivation technology to improve fuel efficiency. AWD is available with the V-8 and also gets you 19-inch wheels. Last year, an SRT8 version of the Magnum became available with a 6.1-liter V-8 and 425 horsepower. It carries over into 2007 unchanged and comes with 20-inch rims, sport-tuned suspension, and other chassis and trim/appearance upgrades. A back-seat DVD entertainment system with Kicker Mobile Surround Sound is available in SRT8 models for 2007.
