Chrysler's 2007 Crossfire is now offered with a single engine, a 215-horsepower, 3.2L V6. It can be matched with either a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick manual selection or a six-speed manual gearbox.
There are two body styles available. The coupe has a classic, flowing shape with an especially distinctive boattail rear-end design, while the roadster has a soft-top convertible arrangement combined with special fairings and satin-silver-painted sport bars just behind the seats.
The Crossfire has a very stiff body structure that Chrysler claims is stiffer than the Porsche Boxster's, along with four-wheel anti-lock brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. The steering has a recirculating ball design.
Driver and passenger knee air bags are standard, along with electronic stability control for increased safety during emergency maneuvers or on slippery surfaces.
Both body styles can be had in base or Limited trim. The base models come much better-equipped than most small sports cars and roadsters, including keyless entry, alarm, cruise control, and dual-zone air conditioning, but Limited models add more sound insulation, heated leather seats, power folding heated mirrors, and an Infinity Modulus six-speaker sound system. The Limited also gets satin silver accents, white-on-black gauges, and metallic finish for the center console, and the head restraints are embossed with the Chrysler badge. Both models come with high-speed, Z-rated performance tires, 18-inch in front and 19-inch in back.
Top options include all-season performance tires, a Special Edition Package on the base model, which includes a sportier wheel design and other enhancements, and a GPS navigation system on the Limited.
The Chrysler Crossfire is essentially a carry-over for 2007, but there are several minor changes. It gets a newly available monochromatic appearance, including Bright Silver Metallic paint. Safety features are bolstered: Crossfire now comes with knee air bags for both the driver and passenger.
The high-performance SRT6 variant is no longer available.

A newly available monochromatic Bright Silver
Metallic paint scheme brings the Crossfire into 2007, along with knee airbags
for both driver and passenger. A high-performance SRT6 version of this Mercedes
SLK-based coupe and convertible offers a 330-horsepower supercharged engine,
along with brake and suspension upgrades and other added features that include
an active, speed-sensitive rear spoiler. Base and Limited models continue to
come powered by a 215-horsepower, 3.2-liter V-6 that comes mated to either a
standard six-speed manual gearbox or available five-speed automatic with
manual-shift abilities. The Crossfire's muscular exterior styling is
complemented by a twin-cockpit interior that's finished in metallic accents and
houses amenities like dual-zone air conditioning and power locks, windows and
mirrors. All-speed traction control with stability control are both standard.
Available options include a navigation system and two-tone heated leather power
seats.
