2007 Chevrolet Colorado Review

The 2007 Chevy Colorado is available as a regular cab, an extended cab, and a crew cab, and can be configured with either two- and four-wheel drive. Two engines-an in-line four-cylinder 2.9L that produces 185 horsepower, and 3.7L in-line five-cylinder engine that creates 242 horsepower-join three different suspensions, and two pickup bed lengths, permitting consumers to create the pickup that best suits their needs. A number of different trims help buyers further choose the price and level of equipment they desire.

Rack-and-pinion steering, intermittent wipers, air conditioning, a tilt steering column, cruise control, and folding exterior mirrors are all standard on the Colorado. In addition, Insta-Trac is included on the 4WD models. The ZQ8 sport model offers a distinctive sport truck appearance with performance maneuverability, while the Z71 Off-Road Package provides distinguishing visual indicators to supplement its suspension differentiation.

The Colorado can be ordered as a basic work truck, the mid-level LS, or the top-of-the-line LT. The LS adds cloth seats, while the LT adds desirable equipment such as the 3.7L engine, upgraded tires and wheels, floor mats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, deep tinted windows, and fog lamps. In addition, chrome accents adorn the front door sill, interior door handles, air outlet knobs, small speaker bezels, and instrument cluster trim rings on the LS and LT trims. Anti-lock brakes are standard on all models.
The Chevy Colorado receives larger engines and more power for 2007, with a 2.9L 185-horsepower four-cylinder and a 242-horsepower, 3.7L in-line five being available. A tire pressure monitor is now standard equipment on all trims, and three new colors-Pace Blue, Imperial Blue Metallic and Deep Ruby Metallic-join the palette.

Warranty coverage is upped to five years or 100,000 miles on the powertrain. see less
