Altima

The mid-size Altima sedan receives a number of styling revisions and functional upgrades for 2005. Exterior changes include new smoked headlamps and taillamps, a restyled front fascia and a new front grille. The instrument panel has been revised to produce more of a cockpit feel, there's a new center console and three-spoke steering wheel, and chrome accents are added to the interior. The Altima's standard power windows can now be opened via the keyless-entry key fob, and a DVD-based satellite navigation system is added to the options list. A 175-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder continues as the base engine, while the available 3.5-liter V-6 gets a slight power boost to 250 horsepower. A five-speed manual is standard, and both four- and five-speed automatic transmissions are optional. A new 3.5 SL model adds amenities, while a sporty SE-R version includes a revised suspension, 18-inch wheels and tires and more-aggressive styling cues.
