The purpose of the Instructional Graphic Designer for Online Courses is to support the creation of online learning environments
(including a shared data base of learning objects) within and across departments within the National College of Education.
Specific responsibilities will include: Create and revise digital learning objects in a variety of formats include static images,
photographs, animated graphics, audio/videos, and instructional modules for integration within course content; Develop storyboards
and create design templates for development of online courses to convey course concepts and design; Assemble instructional
materials into modules and course packages; Develop instructor guides for faculty teaching online courses; Provide faculty with
assistance in troubleshooting difficulties with multimedia; assist with professional development for educational technology and
other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); Experience with Web development using Notepad, Dreamweaver, or similar/equivalent tools; Proficiency with Adobe Flash, Proficiency with graphics software such as Adobe Fireworks or Photoshop; Ability to apply pedagogical principles to design of courses and learning objects; Experience in development of multimedia-rich online learning environments Experience in implementing instructional design processes for the development of online learning environments; Familiarity with Blackboard or a comparable learning management system; Excellent written and spoken communication skills; High attention to detail; Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple tasks and meet deadlines and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience are also required.
