Dow Jones has formed a new business unit calledBusiness & Relationship Intelligence (BRI)in its Enterprise Media Group that will focus on bringing solutions to market in the enterprise sales and media segments. BRI brings a fresh approach to business information with unique, game-changing technologies.
Now, Dow Jones can help its customers be even more productive and competitive by providing truly unique insight into trends and relationships that will help them power their business decisions.
Currently we are seeking an exceptional, experienced and driven individual that is available to start immediately to fill the role of aProduct Managerin our South Brunswick, NJ or Waltham, MA office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:This Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution of Dow Jones BRI products throughout the product lifecycle. The Product Manager will define the product vision, gather customer requirements and work closely with engineering to build the product. The Product Manager will also work closely with sales and marketing to articulate the product value and ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
. Responsible for driving the commercial success of Dow Jones BRI Product offerings. Drives revenue growth to meet targets.
. Works proactively with Sales, DJ Consulting Services and Partners and Alliances to gain traction in the market through customer meetings, tradeshows and other client facing opportunities.
. Works collaboratively with marketing to drive the promotion of the product to target market.
. Working collaboratively with DJCS and Partners and Alliances, researches and identifies market opportunities and requirements for developing integration solution sets targeted at the Sales and Marketing segments.
. Develops and presents sound business cases supported by accompanying revenue forecasts and business justifications.
. Measures success in the market through sales and customer interaction, quarterly revenue reports and tracking of key non-revenue metrics.
. Develops and maintains a keen understanding of the target market, customer needs, and competitive issues working with customer facing groups, marketing and from customers directly.
. Provides business direction to the collaborative process of developing functional requirements working closely with Product Development Managers and Technical Owners.
. Ensures strong differentiation from both competing products and existing Factiva products.
. Working closely with sales, marketing and customer service, manages the introduction of new offerings and enhancements to the existing product.
. In collaboration with marketing, has responsibility to develop pricing, positioning, sales training, and product launch.
. Proactively manages product through its life cycle, from introduction through to withdrawal, applying the right market strategies to maximize revenue in every stage.
. Anticipates and responds to customer issues.
. Works closely with internal groups (Technology, Content, Service Management, Customer Service, Marketing) to manage product performance, resolution of outages and defect resolution.
. Maintains up to date sales FAQs about product.
Position Requirements
. At least 10 years experience working in a technology related organization, with Product Management experience and ideally a technical sales background.
. Experience in implementing intranet technologies, such as sales portals, CRM, or general portal platforms.
. Must demonstrate a broad-based technical knowledge of current integration architectures and associated W3C standards, including Web Services, XML, portal platforms such as Microsoft Sharepoint or IBM Websphere.
. Technical understanding of CRMs and sales force automation products would be an advantage.
. Strong understanding of company and financial information, and the use of this type of information in client systems is preferred.
. Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to identify, monitor and optimize Dow Jones opportunities in target market.
. Ability to successfully challenge existing methods and to generate innovative solutions. Demonstrated ability to craft effective business solutions: identifies alternatives to product challenges, creates competitive advantage, and evaluates/selects appropriate strategies.
. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to adapt the message for different audiences, including the Leadership Team.
. Ability to provide thought leadership in area of expertise.
. Understands and effectively uses knowledge of emerging industry and technology developments to successfully work with partners and internal customers.
. Thoroughly understands the industry landscape and optimizes that knowledge to better the product development process.
