POSITION OVERVIEW | HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER 1) Manages the regional human resource function for assigned markets including: -Partners with market and department leadership to ensure staffing levels are maintained within budget guidelines. -Implements management practices, which ensure organizational effectiveness, sound employee relations, and training and development of department employees. -Facilitates timely handling of personnel issues. -Provides leadership, acts a mentor and positively influences employee morale. 2) Leads the employee relations efforts of the market(s); Counsels employees and managers on employee relations issues and problems, ensures all issues are resolved in a legal manner. Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, unemployment claims and preparation of information and draft response of EEOC type claims. RespondS timely to outside inquiries, i.e., unemployment claims, EEOC inquiries. Represents the company at appeal hearings. Guides managers through the disciplinary process; ensuring that disciplinary actions are properly developed and reviewed by HR prior to delivery to employees. 3) Communicates and interprets various human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations for employees and managers. Makes recommendations to current and/or new policies in accordance. 4) Develops and delivers training to the workforce; develops market specific training as needed. 5) Manages employee terminations, including involuntary terminations and workforce reductions under the guidance of Regional Human Resources Director. Conducts exit interviews with all employees who voluntarily terminate their employment with the company. 6) Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to establishedgoals. Recommends new approaches, policies, procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and services performed. 7)Responsible for administration of employee benefits within the markets, including counseling and educating employees regarding leaves and applicable policies, ensuring proper paperwork is returned and managing the employee's return to work. Answers employee questions regarding benefits policies and processes. 8)Partners with assigned business unit leaders to assist in developing plans to address short term and long term goals. Develops, presents and executes action plans designed to improve business effectiveness and efficiency. 9)Performs project work as assigned, including: -Tracking receipt of mid-year and year-end performance reviews -Reviewing bonus payout spreadsheets and communicating revisions to ensure correct bonus payouts to all employees -Assisting with employee satisfaction survey as assigned -Assist in the planning and implementation of employee recognition programs 0-Ensures proper handling of Motor Vehicle record checks to include necessary actions and adherence to vehicle policy. 10) Administers Workers Compensation and Safety programs HR MANAGER COMPETENCIES Strategic Skills Business Acumen Dealing with Ambiguity Decision Quality Strategic Agility Energy And Drive Drive For Results Courage Conflict Management Managerial Courage Sizing Up People Organizational Positioning Comfort Around Higher Management Organizational Agility Personal and Interpersonal Skills Customer Focus Interpersonal Savvy Listening Motivating Others Understanding Others Managing Vision and Purpose Education- Required: BS in Human Resources or related field or equivalent Preferred: PHR Certification Industry Experience- Required: Fast paced environment Preferred: Telecommunications, Retail Job Experience- 7+ years of previous HR Generalist experience includING recruiting, employee relations and training job responsibilities.
