| This car, on chassis GYH55 with engine K3N, comes complete with the RREC copies of build sheets etc. which tell us that it was supplied to Arthur Mulliner in May 1935 originally for their own stock though it appears to have fairly rapidly been assigned to a Mr. Brian Lawrence of Knightsbridge, London. It was bought by the current owner several years ago as a restoration project but other things have taken priority and he is unlikely to complete it hence its sale. However he did have the engine dismantled, refurbished as necessary and rebuilt. It starts easily and runs very sweetly so that is something you will not have spend money on. The aluminium coachwork looks quite untidy when you first see it though closer inspection reveals that it is surprisingly sound, however it will need a few dents knocked out and a decent respray to bring it back to its former glory. The wooden body frame, apart from an area round the rear lower part of the the driver's door, appears to be quite solid as all the other doors close nicely as does the boot lid though there is a rather poorly finished piece of wood frame over the front winsdcreen. The window winders, including the drivers "fast-wind" mechanism, all work nicely though a bit of oil would not come amiss. The sun roof has been panelled over externally though it appears to be intact on the inside. The seats need refurbishing though there are surprisingly few tears in the leather and with a bit of effort they will come up well. The headlining is not torn and is generally in good condition though it could do with a clean. The carpets have long since departed! The radiator is near perfect and the headlights and front sidelights are good though the rear lights have gone astray. The bumpers are in good shape though they will need to be rechromed. The wheels are generally in good order, including the twin spare which still have their original metal covers. The tyres hold air and three of them have a reasonable amount of tread though I expect you would want to fit new ones! All in all it's a nice very largely intact and complete Rolls-Royce which could probably be got into road useable condition with out too much effort or expense - the question then is how far you want to go on the cosmetics of the car. However it is a very do-able project and a fairly inexpensive way into Rolls-Royce ownership! | ||

Some History of the Rolls-Royce 20/25
Although the car's large engine allowed a top speed of 75mph, quite impressive at the time, most owners had expensive, after-market limousine coach bodies added, hampering performance.
