Some History of the Austin Healey Sprite
It used the tuneable 43bhp version of the overhead-valve 948cc Austin A-Series engine, sporting twin SU carburettors, and the shared A35 gearbox and axles. Suspension was also derived from older models, namely the Austin A35 and Morris Minor, with wishbone suspension at the front and leaf spring at the rear.
