DESCRIPTION:
The Old Rectory is a charming Victorian house with a beautiful outlook over a traditional pastaral scene encompassing the church of St Peters. Built in 1842 the house belonged to the church while also combining as a working farm. Once a substantial mansion, the house was reduced after the second world war and has recently been refurbished throughout to provide attractive and manageable family accommodation.

ACCOMMODATION:
The house offers impressive rooms embracing the Victorian style of architecture with high moulded ceilings and wide sash windows. The main reception hall is approached through a stain glass entrance door off which leads three elegant reception rooms including the drawing and dining rooms with stunning commissioned fireplaces by the contemporary marble sculpture Roger Pearson. There are many period features including original ceiling roses, picture rails, working shutters, cast iron radiators and French doors opening to the terrace. The lifestyle kitchen has been recently installed by Mark Cooper with an excellent range of units, oil fired Aga, slate floors and hand made Cornish painted tiles. An attractive wide part glazed door with fan light above leads to the terrace which is ideal for outside entertaining. The bedrooms are all large and complemented by well fitted bathrooms while on the second floor, two apartments have been created with kitchenettes, sitting rooms and bedrooms, ideal for live-in staff or semi dependant relatives. There is also a family games room.Ground and GardensOld Rectory has an impressive approach through wrought iron electric gates, to a long driveway past an avenue of lime trees to a gravel turning area around a water feature. To one side is a gated stable yard with stable block, store and shelter and from where the paddock is accessed. The formal gardens lie to the south of the house beyond the paved terrace to the front of the house with sweeping lawns and a beech walkway leads to a further lawned garden and beyond is a paddock bound by a stream and surrounded by traditional meadow land with far reaching views to the Hawkstone Hills. The garden has a number of mature trees including Oak, Beech, Lime, Apple and Cherry.
