I don't fish with anything shorter than 6'6" and prefer the longer rods. I have never tried to put one in that didn't fit.

However, the center two tubes will probably hold 7'6" rods. I can't say for sure because the boat is stored a 2 hour drive from here but I am almost certain I have a couple of 7'6" rods in it myself. I know for sure 7' will work fine, especially in the top row, the longer ones will fit in bottom row too but I think the tips will protrude past the end of the tubes which is why they state 6'6" rods. Just have to not get in a hurry pulling out or turn with rod down to tube rather than guide down when removing. Kind of like taking out of a nylon rod case if you have ever used one of those that has loops. As long as the guides don't catch on the loops no problem - same with rod tubes.
