Job responsibilities and duties include:- Strategic Planning - Provide input to and execute against annual strategic communications plan- Process Management - Establish & implement internal processes and procedures for managing communications, including development of communications deliverables, decision making regarding conference and event attendance, and processes for managing the interaction between communications staff and program staff- Lead Project Management for Communications Department Work with relevant ReFED colleagues or external stakeholders to oversee projects through their entire life cycle - determining project scope; recommending strategic direction; developing cost estimate and timeline; monitoring production process to ensure delivery within scope or implementing contingencies; soliciting/analyzing/addressing feedback; getting buy-in from key stakeholders; launching; evaluating and optimizing as appropriate- Graphic Design - Develop content deliverables for the organization's programs and projects, including but not limited to gated content, reports, white papers, marketing collateral, and talking points. Oversee the work of third-party vendors to create copy and graphic design assets for a multitude of internal and external uses, ensuring consistent alignment with brand and the specific project need- Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning - Monitor and report on communications KPIs that provide visibility to progress, accomplishments, and opportunities for improvement within the organization's communications function. Collaborate with Development staff to identify and present fundable opportunities to donors and ensure that ReFEDs work, and accomplishments are well represented and promoted to the philanthropic community- Social Media - Oversee outreach for ReFED social platforms (currently Twitter and LinkedIn); develop content schedules, including for special campaigns; write copy and produce graphics; work with key stakeholders (internal and external) to promote special events/announcements; encourage engagement; understand follower demographics to ensure we are reaching the right people and increase follower count; recommend new platforms as appropriate.- Brand Stewardship Manage and ensure compliance with the organ for internal and external use cases of the ReFED brand (visual identity and key messaging); understand what is required within the brand guidelines and what if anything is permissible to shift for specific situations; engage with internal stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure that branding is working for their audiences (e.g., Development) and address accordingly- Website - Manage content and design layout for ReFED web properties (refed. com, microsites, satellite tools) including daily updates (e.g., media mentions; blog articles; etc.) and discrete; work with third party vendors on ongoing maintenance; participate in larger initiatives as assigned (e.g. homepage redesign); review analytics to determine usage patterns and make recommendations for optimization- Ambassadorship - Serve as an ambassador for Communications/communications (as a department and as a discipline) with internal stakeholders; represent ReFED to external stakeholders in various capacities/situations by describing our mission, vision, and programs and otherwise encouraging engagement. Participate in and prepare staff for interviews with media and other parties, presentations at conferences and events, and other public facing communications about the organization and our work. This position may supervise junior staff of the Communications Team but has no managerial authority (hiring, termination, etc.) Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field of study, plus at least two (2) years of experience in a communications-related position(s). Will accept a foreign degree. Qualified candidates must also have demonstrable knowledge, experience, skill, or proficiency (through education or employment) with the following: Experience with communications strategies, including helping to set, execute, and measure performance;Brand management, stewardship, and development;Experience with the full life cycle of website development and management from conception to daily maintenance with an ability to input to and support this process from acommunications perspective (this is not a web dev or engineering position);Excellent project management abilities;Ability to copy edit a wide range of content with a keen eye for detail;Skill at producing engaging and compelling presentations in PowerPoint and Google Slides;Experience managing company/organization social media accounts and email campaigns;Experience evaluating website and social media performance;Experience using Google Analytics; 5% domestic travel required for meetings and events.
