Job Description:Job Description SummaryBoston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for Costume Shop overhires as draper/stitchers, wardrobe assistants, and hair/wigs/makeup assistants. Part of the Performance Services department, Costume Shop overhires are casual, hourly employees reporting to and supervised by the Costume Shop Manager and staff.Job DescriptionMINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 1-3 years of experience in a professional theatrical/performance environment, in general/various operations or a specific areaKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIRED:Must be able to work independently, take direction, move with urgency, remain diplomatic and calm in fast-paced situationsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, FileMaker, and/or similar formats for record-keeping and communications is helpfulInterest in and knowledge of costume construction techniques, wardrobe maintenanceWORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor environments, some with low light: stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, costume shop, props storage, office spaces, closets, catwalksSeated and standing positionsMay work closely with student workersSPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, ETC:Some nights and weekends requiredLocal travel may be required (valid driver's license necessary)May be required to be able to lift and move 40 poundsMay be required to be able to climb stairs, laddersADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONSFinal compensation offered is based on applicants' experience, potential, level of specialization, and is determined by Berklee HR.
