Description: We are seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Design Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our growing and dynamic team. The UX/UI Design SME will be both technically proficient and possess strong problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of front-end development frameworks and is comfortable working with back-end technologies. In this role you must be a high performer, a visionary, and exceptionally creative, that sees the big picture but can focus on the smallest of details that matter. The successful candidate will utilize their deep knowledge, research and expertise in UX/UI design to develop and maintain cutting-edge innovative solutions to successfully deliver results to our clients. You will be responsible for identifying and validating problems and areas of opportunities through research, ideation and developing solutions that balances three key critical areas: user, business/mission needs, and technology implementation. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, with a strong background in UX/UI design and a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences. Responsibilities: As a Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance in the field of UX/UI design, guiding the design process from concept to implementation, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and user experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions that align with our business objectives and user needs. Conduct detailed user research and gather requirements to understand user needs and preferences, advocating for the user and incorporating user feedback into the design process. Create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups that effectively communicate design ideas and enhance the user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to identify and resolve design-related issues and challenges and to ensure the successful implementation of design solutions. Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve design solutions. Evaluate and optimize design solutions based on criteria such as cost-effectiveness, performance, reliability, and safety. Lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality and reliability of design deliverables. Perform feasibility studies to assess the technical viability and potential impact of proposed design solutions. Analyze and interpret complex technical specifications to develop efficient and effective designs. Experience working in an Agile development environment and attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in defense and space industries. Research and provide data needed for UX/UI developers Verification and Validation testing Create training videos and SOPs for applications Research the latest AI tools and provide recommendations Vet and approve designs and data before handing off to developers Create structured content lists to match designs for developers Qualifiers: Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise. Expert knowledge of user-centered design, agile/iterative design and emerging design trends, user research methodologies and ability to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations. You have extensive training and education in human factors/behaviors, cognitive science. Specialize in qualitative, quantitative, attitudinal, and behavioral research has been an area of significant improvement that I think is needed on the team. Proficient with design, research, communication, and project management tools such as Figma, FigJam, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or InVision, and emerging design tools. Deep understanding of UX principles and best practices, as well as the ability to apply them to different platforms and devices. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and champion design ideas to cross-functional teams. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate complex design challenges and a track record of delivering innovation solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability collaborate effectively across diverse teams. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation and specifications. Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends. S. Citizen with an active U.S. Secret security clearance required.
