Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager, Critical Care, the PICC Nurse is responsible for performing care for specific patients requiring insertion of various types of central lines or troubleshooting of existing lines; utilizing nursing knowledge and skills in the backssment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care; providing, delegating or supervising the delivery of expert nursing care for patients within the hospital campus; acting as an advisor to nursing personnel and other health care professionals for the care of patients requiring insertion or trouble shooting of various types of central lines; and performing other related duties as assigned. Experience Five (5) years recent acute Medical Nursing and/or Surgical Nursing experience required. Demonstrated clinical teaching and expertise required. Previous experience in an expanded nursing role required. Current PICC competency required. Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of various current and related software applications would be an asset. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
