Southbridge Care Homes is looking for Maintenance Aide who can functions as a “resident advocate” for our Ottawa, ON location. On a daily basis, the Maintenance Aide will be responsible for specific operations related to mechanical, electrical and maintenance departments. Our Maintenance Aide will be the first point of contact from the management side for our client’s side for any concerns related to the facilities of the home. As a Maintenance Aide, you will be accountable for… Promoting bill of rights by building rapport with our residents, family members, employees, and our clients of the home. Conduct all the duties related to the occupational health and safety procedures of the company to keep our home safe and healthy. Provide support in the maintenance department, and painting operations of the home, making sure everything is as per the company standards. Assist with the property maintenance including exterior duties including snow removal property lightning, garbage, and other general operations. Ensure all the entries are recorded in maintenance care application. As handy person this job also includes janitorial duties such as cleaning and disinfecting the ground floor. Other duties as required. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: Post-Secondary Certificate in Skill trades or related program or high level of experience. One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical home operations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
