SUMMARY: The position of Surface Grinder performs surface grinding operations to grind external surfaces of metallic components as per outlined drawings and/or specifications. Please note we are hiring for day shift: Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Company matching contributions to retirement savings plan (RSP)Comprehensive group benefit plan including medical, dental & life insurance coverage Employee Assistance Program MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: To ensure parts and components are visually acceptable and dimensions meet requirements outlined in process sheets or diagrams; Mount and dress the required grinding wheel for the manual grinder(s) Complete in-process and final process quality checks, as required, using micrometers, gauges, etc Use various hand tools as required. Set appropriate magnetic check or related job to hold components securely for grinding operation Check provided drawings to verify machining dimensions Maintaining clean work station and general shop housekeeping Interprets sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
