The Church: God is telling a beautiful story through our church. Family Church is focused on helping people believe, belong, and go beyond themselves as they BE the church. We are one church with three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese) and multiple campuses located across Central Florida. Our church is home to people of all ages, ethnicities, socioeconomic levels, and various stages on the journey to following Jesus. Throughout the community, Family Church is known for having a missional mindset, biblical teaching, and great discipleship environments for all ages. The Role: The Student Director at Lakeside will be responsible for leading a team of volunteers and paid staff to help disciple and reach teenagers. This person must be able to equip and shepherd parents and volunteers to help kids in their ability to believe, belong, and go beyond themselves. This person will assist parents as the primary disciple-maker in the family. Our church is looking for someone who can provide a gospel center ministry that will reach students and families on their level. The Students director will assist the Student pastor in guiding overall Student ministry for Family Church. Below are the expectations of the role. Provide leadership and serve as a shepherd to the Lakeside Student ministry team. Effectively communicate a vision for student ministry aligned with the church's overall vision. Oversee, plan, and coordinate annual Student Ministry programs/events including VBS, camps, retreats, and special events. Work closely with the Student Pastor and other campuses to develop comprehensive middle and high school ministries. Follow the philosophy of Student Ministry for Family Church and make it fit into the environment of the Lakeside Campus. Recruit, train, and inspire both paid and volunteer staff to grow in their gifting and calling to serve students and their families. Develop strategies to welcome and support new families to the Student ministry and the church. Create opportunities for parents to grow in their relationship with Christ and in their role as primary disciple-maker The Students/ Facilities Director: We are looking for a high-capacity leader with strong character and deep love for Jesus: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Student ministry. Bible or seminary Training preferred. Understanding of the Bible and Christian Theology. Must fully align with Family Church beliefs Bilingualism is strongly preferred. The person must be sensitive to the differences present within our church (English, Spanish, and Portuguese). Well-organized with good time management and project management abilities Possess a high level of initiative and follow-through Ability to counsel team members, students, and parents in times of need. Also, must know when to point people to professional counseling. Mature in their faith and have a passion for serving Jesus. This person MUST have a track record of discipling teenagers and adult volunteers.
