Adopt Holly FOSTER NEEDED a Black Shepherd (Unknown Type) / Mixed Breed

Holly is a gorgeous 11 month old shepherd mix with a big personality and an insatiable love for people! Holly was returned to us after adoption due to unforeseen circumstances in the family as well as the inability to change the bad behaviors Holly does have. Holly is very high energy, she loves other dogs and enjoys the dog park more then life itself! Recently Holly started becoming reactive and aggressive towards dogs at the park who approached her people so this is something that will need worked through with a trainer. Aside from that she plays wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with one or more canine friends! She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard with the ability to run and play all day if she likes. She does calm down and cuddle up to sleep on the couch at different times of the day though, her highest level of hyperactivity is when people come over or she sees new people or dogs while outside. Holly is no doubt a very loyal and loving dog, she just doesn't quite understand how to appropriately express her emotions. She does great with kids however because of her extreme excitement and tendency to jump on people she will knock over small children and shouldn't be around a baby without strict supervision as she just can't contain her energy levels. She has been around cats and showed healthy curiosity but the cat didn't share that same curiosity and quickly hid from her lol! She LOVES chewing her giant bone, peanut butter filled kongs, carrying tennis balls around, any and all toys she can get and just being with her people. She lives for belly rubs and will surely let you know when she'd like one! Holly does great in the home alone free roaming, she doesn't damage anything and will chew her bone or sit by the front door until you get home. She hasn't spent anytime in a crate aside from one attempt where she broke right through a wire crate although this could be overcome with professional training if crating is needed. She's potty trained and will whine loudly to let you know she needs to go out. She does struggle greatly with walking nicely on lead and will pull very hard even with a prong collar on, this is one of the negative habits mentioned above. This sweet girl needs someone with patience and the willingness to get her the help she needs to be the best dog she can be!
