About The Job We are seeking as-needed entry to mid-level professionals to conduct environmental surveys with an emphasis in stormwater inspection, wildlife biology and botany in the Southwest and Intermountain West. Candidates must be familiar with wildlife, stormwater management best practices, dust control monitoring and have construction monitoring experience. This is a variable-hour position which means hours worked vary from week to week depending on project needs. Learn more about the projects you will have the opportunity to shape. Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below): Work with construction crews and environmental resource leads to document compliance levels related to environmental regulations. Collect field data for use in project regulatory reporting. Conduct surveys for wildlife including nesting birds. Ability to work collaboratively with construction personnel and regulatory personnel to develop solutions while implementing permit conditions. Follow all Dudek and construction site safety protocols. Frequent and overnight travel expected depending on your home location. Minimum Requirements Experience in performing biological surveys, stormwater inspections and/or construction monitoring. Understanding of environmental regulations. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have the ability to be insured to drive a vehicle and/or current auto-insurance. Reliable vehicle is required to travel to project sites (4WD not necessary). Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment. * As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, or other related field OR at least 3 years of field experience in construction compliance monitoring. Must demonstrate solid written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team. Physical Requirements Working Conditions: This job operates in an outdoor or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. This job requires project site visits which are based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This job may require working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting. This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with government agency representatives, members of the public, and others. Speaking, hearing and listening are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Outdoor activity may involve walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
