Senior Telecom Systems Engineer

Green Mountain Power is seeking an experienced, senior-level Telecom Systems Engineer to architect, manage, and support its state-wide PBX, VOIP, and telecom systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this role will implement and manage all telecommunications services and initiatives across numerous state-wide facilities and locations. In this highly collaborative position, you will work closely with members of our network, infrastructure, call center, and security teams daily to provide resilient, scalable, next-level voice services for employees and customers of Green Mountain Power. Qualified candidates will be responsible for: Leading the conceptualization, analysis, procurement, installation, configuration, testing, deployment and support of state-wide voice communications including enterprise PBX systems, phones, cloud-based services, and call center communication systems and software Evaluating and recommending appropriate telecommunications solutions as part of a cross-functional team and facilitating discussions with senior leaders, and other stakeholders to drive the adoption of innovative solutions supportive of the Company's mission and customer needs Monitoring and analyzing system performance across the organization's voice network Developing, implementing and conducting testing of business continuity/disaster recovery plans as they pertain to voice communications and services Preferred candidates will possess demonstrable experience building and implementing enterprise-scale telecom systems, including PRI, SIP, VOIP, and other services, as well as the selection and implementation of both digital and analog technologies. Experience with contact center software, auto-attendants, IVRs, ACD, voicemail, and call recording systems is desirable. The ability to monitor, triage, and analyze performance issues across a widely distributed network infrastructure is crucial. Prior experience with and the ability to manage operations within an AVAYA PBX infrastructure is a plus. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, the ability to present and explain complex information to a wide variety of diverse audiences in a clear, persuasive manner, and the ability to problem-solve as part of an integrated technical team, are crucial. On-premise, hybrid, and remote work opportunities are available options for this position, however, frequent work within the Company's data centers, field offices, as well as the ability to manage and triage service-affecting outages and other performance issues at any time (though minimal) should be expected.
