Position Details This position can be based at any of our 3 NC offices: Charlotte, Highpoint, or Raleigh. As a member of Catapult's Marketing and Engagement team, the Communications Specialist must be a compelling storyteller and a highly flexible and engaged writer across mediums, with an ability to adapt content for different audiences and outcomes. This individual will help to implement Catapult's marketing and communications strategy by researching, planning, creating, editing, organizing, and distributing content that effectively tells our organization's story, ensures messages reach target audiences, and positions Catapult as the Southeast's leading employers' association.The Communications Specialist reports to and works in close collaboration with the Senior Communications Manager to create, repurpose, maintain, and optimize written content targeted to current and prospective Catapult members and customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Content Development• Write and edit copy for Catapult's website, email, social media, marketing collateral, and advertising.• Maintain and apply a nuanced understanding of the organization and its mission, vision, values, and culture when developing content.• Work with the Senior Communications Manager to ideate and develop compelling and complementary multimedia content to achieve established goals• Work closely with the Marketing and Engagement Team to identify, develop, repurpose, maintain, and optimize content for various audiences.• Maintain Catapult's editorial and content calendars to ensure appropriate timelines for content preparation and publication/deployment. Manage multiple, deadline-driven projects simultaneously.• Collaborate with Catapult's internal teams and external partners to update, source, and create content.• Analyze and identify communications needs, trends, and opportunities. Recommend content and messages to achieve established goals.• Monitor Catapult Gmail account and Google Alerts for relevant company/industry news.• Maintain and apply knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices to engage and develop Catapult audiences.• Identify discrepancies in assets across Catapult platforms (e.g., website, social media). Work with Catapult's Senior Communications Manager to resolve.• Assist in developing and executing multimedia content strategies to support and build Catapult audiences.• Uphold Catapult editorial and brand guidelines, standards, and policies. Social Media Management • Create, schedule, and post content to Catapult's social media platforms per the editorial calendar; identify and share third-party content per Catapult guidelines.• Regularly monitor social media to engage with followers; effectively communicate with followers to increase engagement and awareness of our services.• Audit social media followers and identify trends and opportunities.• Track social media metrics for monthly/quarterly/annual reports.• Maintain and apply knowledge of social media platforms and social media marketing best practices.• Address or flag technical issues and/or concerns that may affect Catapult's reach, results, and/or brand. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong customer service skills• Efficient organizational and time management skills• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, write basic correspondence.• Ability to effectively present information in one‐on‐one and small group situations to members and other employees of the organization.• Proficient with MS Office Suites, HRIS programs or other similar software• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner and/or other SEO tools• Experience with Asana, Monday.com or other project management software• Experience with editorial calendars and brand/style guidelines• Experience analyzing audience data, identifying opportunities, and building digital audiences • Ability to write clear, concise, and compelling messages to support business needs TRAVEL Minimal travel. Must be willing to travel to assigned home office once per month for collaboration days and other Catapult locations 4 times per year for all-hands meetings as well as any required ad-hoc meetings. Mileage to/from home office is not reimbursable. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED This position can be based at any of our following 3 NC offices: Charlotte, Highpoint, or Raleigh. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a business setting, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
