About the role The Control Systems Technical Specialist II is a member of the global Fixed Plant Control (FPC) systems team and is responsible for maintaining and improving the availability and integrity of the site industrial control system (ICS) infrastructure for a single site. This position reports to and supports the Control Systems Technical Supervisor / Senior Control Systems Technical Supervisor. The incumbent: Purpose provides technical expertise and support for all DCS, PLC & SCADA hardware, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrades; provides technical expertise and support for all ICS networking, telemetry, and all site OT infrastructure including the PI Historian suite of applications; provides support to control room / operations, metallurgists, maintenance, engineering, and projects departments to safely maximise production capacity across both processing and mining facilities; collaborates with control system vendors to manage minor upgrades, patching and incorporate new products reliably in to the site ICS; performs any preventative or corrective maintenance required on the ICS infrastructure. The incumbent is also required to continuously develop and improve the site maintenance procedures to maximise the availability of the site ICS; utilises Newmont standard ICS applications for.
