The Building Services Group at the Department of Public Works supports Nova Scotia’s 2,400 buildings and infrastructure assets across a wide range of clients. We maintain and support various government buildings and other built assets, including museums, core buildings and office buildings supporting the work of government, correctional centres, and justice centres. Without our Building Services staff’s proactive measures, equipment issues or failures could lead to an interruption of services provided. Sprinkler system installers support the overall safety and efficiency of our provincial building infrastructure. About Our Opportunity Under the general supervision of the Mechanical Trades Coordinator, the sprinkler system installer will install, maintain, service, repair, inspect and decommission industrial, commercial and residential fire suppression systems, equipment and components in provincially owned and leased buildings serviced by the Department. The sprinkler system installer is responsible for connecting to, and servicing mechanical fire suppression systems, equipment, piping, and associated controls. This may include, but is not limited to, performing regular preventive maintenance procedures, responding to corrective maintenance tasks, project work and emergency calls. The sprinkler system installer is responsible for ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with the National Building Code of Canada, National Energy Code, National Fire Code of Canada, and departmental requirements and standards. Qualifications and Experience High school diploma and Red Seal qualification - Sprinkler system installer must have a minimum of two (2) years. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
