SBM is currently seeking a design intern to work with our engineering staff in the Electrical division of our London office for 16 months. The Electrical Engineering Intern will assist with the design, analysis, evaluation, and implementation of electrical systems for a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional building projects, including power distribution, photometrics, lighting systems design, building controls, emergency power, fire alarm, and data communication systems. Some field inspection may also be required. SBM has offices in London and Kitchener, providing engineering services to a variety of private and public sector clients across Southwestern Ontario. The firm employs over 100 engineers, engineers-in-training, technologists, technicians, planners, and administrative personnel. Key Responsibilities: Become familiar with design guidelines, standards, and regulations associated with electrical engineering Preparation of electrical engineering design and documents ensuring accuracy, adequacy, and conformance to the design requirements Coordinate with other team members on various projects at the same time to achieve project milestones Accept technical guidance from designers, technologists, and senior staff Work within the project team environment from preliminary stages of the design through to completion Coordinate Electrical aspects of projects with other discipline designs and drawings Skills / Qualifications: Completed three years towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited Canadian University, or equivalent, and.
