Houselink and Mainstay Community Housing (HLMS) is Toronto’s largest non-profit supportive housing provider. Our organization is the result of a recent amalgamation between the former Houselink Community Homes and Mainstay Housing. As a joined organization, w e currently manage nearly 60 residential locations and more than 1,100 units across the City of Toronto, serving individuals with complex mental illness and addictions. We work closely with sector partners to deliver programs and advocate for solutions that will address homelessness. Our work is rooted in the understanding that housing is a human right and plays a vital role in health and well-being. Harm Reduction Worker Permanent Full Time 1 Position35 hours weekly $28.34 hourly Bargaining Unit Position We are an essential service and the incumbent will be required to be at the office and in the community. Personal protective equipment and COVID-19 protocols are in place as per Public Health guidelines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides harm reduction service delivery including informal counselling, referrals to clinical and specialized services, make available harm reduction supplies and Naloxone kits to tenants. Engage with service users, program participants and staff by providing harm reduction education, materials and guidance related to safer drug use and safer interaction; disposal of used sharp objects; assist in reducing the risks of drug use, overdose and transmission of viruses/infections such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS. Educate and guide tenants regarding overdose prevention and management including using and administering Naloxone when necessary. Provide information and referrals to health and social services support for service users. backss the need and provide support and referrals to tenants regarding various.
