DESCRIPTIONGIVEMESPORT is looking for a News and Features editor to join our exciting European football team, specializing in Premier League content. This role requires a strong understanding of Google Search, Google Discover and Facebook, a deep knowledge of English football and a proven track record of writing, editing and briefing content at speed. A commitment to working at evenings and weekends is also compulsory. The Role: - Writing and editing 500-word news articles and 1,000-word features- Selecting unique stories to create content around- Optimizing content to maximize sessions on Google Search, Discover and Facebook, including the creation of high-quality social media posts- Managing between 1-4 writers per shift and delegating stories accordingly- Working at speed to help the team cover breaking news or deliver relevant features minutes after a story first emerges- Contributing to daily ideation meetings- Availability to regularly work at evenings and weekends in order to cover major sporting events Essential Skills: - At least three years of experience in an editor position within sports media that involved briefing other writers- An eye for a story that will naturally engage readers across multiple platforms- Strong knowledge of Google Search ideation and optimisation- Experience creating Facebook posts with high engagement and clickthrough rate- Able to produce accurate, immaculate copy at speed- Able to proof-read and fact-check the work of others thoroughly- Able to articulate any feedback to writers in a constructive and understandable manner- In-depth knowledge of past and present Premier League football Desirable Skills: - Able to create bespoke images on Photoshop Powered by Jazz HR.
