Description:

Offered is my very solid 1963 Buick Riviera. I bought this car in 2013 and am the 3rd owner. I will do my best to describe it fully, but I will miss some details. Starting off it has a pretty rare paint code of "JJ", which is Willow Mist. Only about 667 Rivieras had this paint code. The interior is sandlewood vinyl. Amazingly, this car has not been messed with over the years. It is numbers matching and still retains it's original interior, trim, hubcaps, ect. It is a standard trim level. No major options to note other than power windows. This is a NO AC car. When I purchased the car it had been sitting for a few years. The last few photos will show you exactly how it looked when I bought it. Since I've owned it, I've done my best to bring it back to life. Besides a tune up (new plugs, oil, filters, ect.) I've done the following:New tires (Hankook Optimo), with alignment New water pumpNew rear window motorNew track bar bearings (not yet installed)Replaced a later model carb with a fully rebuilt original #3503 carb.New correct style batteryNOS correct style lap belts (did not originally come with any)I also bought a few accessory items from Original Parts Group like all new floor mats ($216.99), correct battery retainer, new vent window crank and a few other miscellaneous items. I have kept receipts for almost everything I've done to it. I also have receipts for $653.00 worth of new seals/weatherstrip and $1022.13 for service on the transmission (2011) that the previous seller gave me. As for driving, it goes down the road fine and will do highway speeds (and then some!) no problem. It doesn't wander or float. The brakes are solid and do not pull. It handles nicely (one reason I haven't installed the track bar bearings yet). It has dual exhaust and sounds great going down the road. I try to be as upfront with any items I sell, so here are a few things that will need some attention. The paint is about a 5 footer. It has a few scratches here and there. I was told it did have a repaint later in life, but do not have any receipts for it. The original paint in the trunk, doors, ect. match the outside perfectly. ***Although not shown in the photos, the side trim is present and is currently on the car. I was waiting for new trim tabs when I took these photos.*** A few of the trim pieces have a some dings. I've been all over this car and no rust on it that I can see. With that said, the only exterior issue I can see is bubbling at the connection point between the inner and outer hood. (two evenly spaced bubbles on either side of the hood.) I suspect this is the start rust, but haven't tackled it. The interior is all original (I've found the paper manufacture tags underneath the carpet.) The seats are in pretty nice shape for being 50+ years old. The rear carpets are in good shape. The front carpets are stained, which is why I bought new floor mats. It presents well with the floor mats in place. I did add lap belts to the front and found a nice NOS pair that look great. The dash has some cracking to the sides. The windshield wipers work, but are touchy when you try to turn them off. I haven't tackled this issue. The heater is not hooked up, but the vents work with the exception of one. The passenger side window just stopped working. It is 3/4s of the way up right now. I have already replaced the rear window motor on the drivers side and highly suspect a motor issue for the passenger window. The car is a bit hard to start after sitting. I suspect it is a choke issue. I have not connected the hot air choke on the new carb I got. I was planning on installing an electric choke. Overall this is a very solid survivor car. It would be great for someone to drive as is and do a few little things to finish it off. With that said, it is being SOLD AS IS. P.S. The final picture in this listing is a good shot of the Willow Mist color. The sun kind of drowned it out in my photos.
