Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest, Portland, OR, is hiring a fulltime, 40 hours/week JV Program Coordinator to begin in April 2020. Applications will be accepted through March 6, 2020 and on a rolling basis thereafter.Excellent work environment and benefits. Position Summary: The Program Coordinator (PC) is the primary representative of Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest in the communities where there are Jesuit Volunteers (JVs)/AmeriCorps members, serving as a resource and facilitator to sustain a meaningful JV/AmeriCorps member experience for the local JV communities and individual JV/AmeriCorps members. The PC position, along with the entire Program Team, engages heavily in developing and advancing the equity and inclusion efforts of JVC Northwest. The PC reports to the JV Program Manager, works in a team with other Program Coordinators, and follows the guidelines laid out in the Program Coordinator Handbook. Duties and Responsibilities The Program Coordinator will be responsible for: Jesuit Volunteer support during the program year Partner agency selection, relationship building, and site monitoring JV retreats and orientation Volunteer recruitment, selection, and placement JV support network and public relations JV housing arrangements JV Program documentation and record keeping Other office responsibilities Advancement of equity and inclusion efforts within the organization Performing other duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements The Program Coordinator demonstrates the following: Undergraduate degree Ability to impart the spirit of JVC Northwest and our commitment to living the values of social and ecological justice, community, simple living and spirituality/reflection Willingness to honor and incorporate the Jesuit Catholic Christian tradition of faith doing justice while embracing the spiritual diversity throughout our program Ability to work as a team member and also independently Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Ability to meet the public, exercise independent judgment, work with many details, and communicate effectively with diverse peoples Flexibility in terms of frequent travel for long periods, scheduling, work hours, and job responsibilities; One or two years' experience working alongside those on the margins of society in a social change advocacy organization Experience with retreat planning and implementation desired One year in ministry or counseling, training and/or education in related fields, Resident Assistant experience, program coordination experience (strongly preferred) Experience as a Jesuit Volunteer, National Service Member or as an member of a comparable program (strongly preferred) Successful clearance of pre-employment reference checks and criminal history background checks required for final hire recblid 4j7e2uq6q22bvmqwwwogbcxdvugwsf BA/BS/Undergraduate
