Landfill OperatorSummit County is recruiting an experienced Operator to operate and maintain heavy equipment at the Landfill. A working knowledge is required of hazards, safety standards, maintenance, and repairs common with medium and heavy equipment. Some knowledge is needed of basic landfill engineering processes, procedures, and controls related to staking, making cuts, fills, and grades. Must be able to follow instructions and establish effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public. May hire at one of the following levels depending on submitted qualifications and experience.Landfill Operator I - Minimum Qualifications graduation from high school or GED, one year of experience operating and maintaining medium to heavy equipment, a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License, must complete a 40 hour hazardous waste course, and be able to comply with applicable county and departmental safety standards. Salary Range: $18.02 - $25.25/hour.Landfill Operator II - Minimum Qualifications graduation from high school or GED, four years of experience operating and maintaining medium to heavy equipment, a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License, must complete a 40 hour hazardous waste course, and be able to comply with applicable county and departmental safety standards. Salary Range: $19.11 - $26.75/hour.We offer a generous benefits package with options for a premium free health plan, dental plan, and life insurance.
