Wilkes University invites applicants for part time positions in the SHINE afterschool program for 2021/22 school year. SHINE is currently seeking professionals to join our team as Educational Support Staff members. These individuals will provide hands-on support to the lead teacher, including working directly with elementary and middle school students as well as assisting with curriculum development and student management, and assisting students in project-based activities with an emphasis on STEAM. Experience working with school-age children helpful. Bachelor's Degree required. Position will be supervised by a certified teacher. Luzerne County SHINE is a nationally recognized program that provides hands on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) instructional activities to students in Pre K and 1st through 8th grade in six local school districts (Wilkes Barre Area, Hanover Area, Wyoming Valley West, Nanticoke Area, Pittston Area, and Hazleton Area). Program begins immediately following day school dismissal. Positions average 8 - 15 hours per week, 2 - 4 days per week. Must be available between the hours of 3:15-6:30 PM Monday-Thursday.
