Civil Construction Engineer (Forensic Engineering)

Job Duties & Responsibilities: Analyze and evaluate construction failures, defects and other issues in completed construction projects , including evaluation of design and construction means, methods, and specifications Review contract and sub-contracts for evaluation of scope, specifications, and work-product compliance Analyze construction defect issues in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying construction and engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards Review construction documents and work change orders Conduct unbiased construction defect investigations for various types of clients Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing Responsible for development and retention of clients Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering Four years of civil/structural and/or construction engineering experience Two years Construction project inspection experience preferred Familiarity with construction claims a plus PE registration or ability to obtain within 12 months Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Physical Requirements: Ability to travel overnight 20% of the time Ability to maneuver in and around an construction site Ability to climb a ladder and maneuver with in and on buildings and structures Ability to lift 50 Ability to drive to site locations Ability to travel by airline Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required Benefits: Extensive forensic training Medical coverage Dental & vision coverage 401(k) with company match Paid vacation, sick days and holidays Company-paid STD, LTD and life insurance Tuition Reimbursement Program Bonus Program SEA places a strong value and priority on diversity, equity and inclusion across the company.
