Job Description: Metas Solutions has an " immediate opening" for an experienced Public Health Electronic Case Reporting Technical Assistance and Support Consultant to work remotely supporting clients located in Atlanta, GA. In this role you will provide technical assistance and data exchange support and guidance to public health partners involved in Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) implementation. Nearly all US healthcare organizations use an Electronic Health Record systems to transmit patient data to public health. Historically this exchange with public health has been done manually. Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) is an HL7 standards-based data exchange solution that automatically generates case reports from EHRs and sends them to public health agencies for review and action for reportable conditions. It enables bi-directional information exchange that enables public health practitioners to provide information back to healthcare workers in near real-time. On behalf of CDC, this role supports the onboarding of healthcare facilities and working with state and local health departments to setup the ability to receive case reports. The responsibilities of this role include supporting the eCR team in setting up electronic data exchange capabilities and providing Technical Assistance to the state and local health departments onboarding to the eCR program. This includes providing overall guidance to public health partners on onboarding steps, implementation guidance and providing high level guidance on the HL7 data exchange solution. You will provide overall support to the jurisdictions and other public health partners on behalf of CDCs eCR program. The ideal candidate will have a Public Health, Health Informatics or related background and have some high- level experience with HL7 and data exchange standards. Candidates who have experience working at the jurisdiction/state health department level supporting case reporting or other related public health programs are preferred. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment preferred. Maintaining requisite knowledge of performing SQL queries against large data sets preferred. Responsibilities: Providing support to the eCR team to assist in onboarding state and local jurisdictions to eCR including providing Technical Assistance to the state and local health departments in order to successfully setup Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) abilities. Providing advice and troubleshooting on HL7 data exchange issues as well as providing overall support to the jurisdictions and other public health partners on behalf of CDC. Maintaining requisite knowledge of performing SQL queries against large data sets preferred. Providing overall support to the Electronic Case Reporting implementations as needed in support of reportable conditions. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Public Health, Health Informatics or related background and have high level knowledge of HL7 and data exchange standards. A working knowledge of Electronic Case Reporting is preferred. A Master's Degree in Health Informatics or Public Health or related field and 5+ years of professional experience. A Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics or related field can be substituted with 7 years of experience. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment preferred Experience providing Technical Assistance to public health partners preferred. Experience with federal consulting and/or CDC experience, program planning, and project management experience is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, professionalism, and the flexibility to adjust his/her approach based on the strategic priorities of the client are characteristics of a successful candidate for this role Strong motivational skills Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities Time management skills; prioritizes time and projects appropriately Security Requirements: Must be US Citizen or with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (Public Trust 5) within a reasonable period.
