Positions
Web designer
We're looking for an innovative, talented web designer to join Oodle and
help build the next generation of great products. You will be responsible for
designing user interfaces that are easy to use while packed with power
features.
Must be:
- A passionate advocate for customers and their needs
- Self-motivated leader who can drive a design initiative from end to end
- Able to partner well with business and engineering leaders
- An expert communicator - able to discuss the pros and cons of design
choices
- Constantly learning new ways to innovate, up-to-date on the latest in the
industry
Must have:
- Strong interaction design skills
- Compelling visual design and aesthetic sense
- Ability to juggle many tasks at once - and to work on 2 projects at the
same time
- Experience designing for consumer/e-commerce sites
- Online portfolio including examples of solving complex UI problems
- 5+ years of industry experience
Would be great to have:
- Experience animating with Flash
- Experience running usability testing

Senior Marketing Manager
We're looking for a marketing all-star who is fired up about making Oodle a household name. Blending the traditional aspects of marketing and product marketing, you will be responsible for all of Oodle's consumer and partner programs. You'll drive programs ranging from big splash launches and seasonal campaigns to grassroots initiatives for Oodle and its partners. More specifically, you will:

Oversee Oodle's marketing programs working with product management to craft product positioning and go-to-market strategies

Develop marketing programs including local market promotions, grass roots campaigns and events that drive brand awareness and loyalty

Determine customer requirements via research, focus groups, surveys, etc. and define program needs

Manage customer acquisition targets and program marketing budget

Drive community outreach leveraging social networks, forums, and blogs

Requirements
You should have 6-8 years consumer product marketing experience preferably with a consumer Internet company. Specifically, you will have:

A successful track record developing marketing partnerships: developing programs, supervising creative development and working with partners to deploy programs

Desktop Support Engineer
Oodle is looking for a desktop support engineer to manage Oodle's
internal technologies and provide technical support for software and
hardware systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide desktop assistance and support for standard PC software,
hardware, printers, faxes and copiers to local and remote users
- Purchasing of new IT hardware -- desktops, laptops, phones, and other
equipment
- Maintaining internal systems such as mail servers, DNS and DHCP
servers, VPN systems, intranet, and the phone system
- Keeping virus software protection/definitions, anti-spyware and
operating system/software patches up-to-date via automated methodology
- Managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and development,
upgrade and support of all desktop/laptop computers, operating
systems, hardware, software, peripherals and office automation
equipment
- Creating and testing nightly backups of employee data
- Providing secondary server administrator to troubleshoot and
resolve issues
Requirements
- 2 years related work experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
- Advanced knowledge of desktop, laptop, peripheral
(printers/scanners), copiers, faxes and LAN/WAN connectivity and
communications
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols and hardware such as
TCP/IP, VPN, Switches and Routers
- Knowledge and experience with Linux
QA Automation Engineer
The QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of
creating automated testing of Oodle's products. The QA Automation
Engineer will possess a strong background in QA and engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering and product teams to define and implement QA and unit test plans
- Improve software quality through testing and advocacy, with a constant focus on the customer experience
- Create, execute and maintain automated test suites of functional, regression, performance, and stress tests
Requirements:
- At least two years of QA experience
- Experience with Perl or other scripting languages
- Experience with Linux and Windows
- Experience writing test plans, test cases and test scripts as well as ad hoc testing.
- Automated testing experience
- Can work independently and juggle priorities in a fast-paced startup
Web Software Developer
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to design and build web-based applications
- Be a key contributor to the design and implementation of the Oodle website
- Your work should be efficient and easily maintained
Requirements:
- Experience working on a large-scale consumer web site
- A passion for building great software and take pride in the quality of your programming
- Expert knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and javascript
- Understanding of user interface design goals
- Startup mentality (self-starter, proactive, flexible)
- Solid programming background
- BS or MS in Computer Science preferred
Senior Engineer
Oodle is looking to hire a Senior Engineer to build systems for better
classification and acquisition of classified listings. The engineer
will build tools for improving the quantity and quality of Oodle's
listings through methods such as Bayesian filtering and other
techniques to determine spam and quality and natural language
processing to extract locations, prices, sports or ticket events and
other such attributes from text listings.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science
- Significant experience building large-scale systems in object-oriented Perl
- Creativity and passion for solving problems and building high-quality software
- Strong skills in C and PHP are a plus
- Startup mentality (self-starter, proactive, flexible)
Senior Product Manager/Product Manager
Primary Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Product Manager/Product Manager at Oodle, you are responsible for
driving innovation, planning and execution of new product features and business
concepts.
Your responsibilities include the following:
- Analyze the external marketplace, customers, and competitors to determine
the right feature set for Oodle users
- Define product strategy and roadmap for your product area. Drive the
execution of the product roadmap
- Oversee product launches from concept to execution including writing
product requirement documents (PRD), conducting user testing, coordinating with
engineering and QA and customer support
Clearly communicate product benefits to our users
- Own key business metrics and drive major improvements through new product
features and product marketing
Requirements:
- 3-5 years Product Management experience at a Consumer Internet or software
company
- Strong passion and technical understanding of Internet technologies and the
operations of a commercial Web site
- Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional groups
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of shipping successful products
Education:
Bachelors Degree Required. MBA preferred.
Data Analyst
We're looking for someone to drive reporting and analytics at Oodle. Ideal candidates will have a passion for numbers and data discovery, deep analytical capabilities, a collaborative work-style and strong strategic judgment. If you like to discover the "truth" through data and want to drive data-based decision making at Oodle, this role's for you. You will:
- Create an efficient turnkey process for generating key metrics reports
- Conduct analysis for major analytical projects
- Be Oodle's expert on Oodle's traffic reporting system (Coremetrics) including evaluating data and defining and implementing system upgrades. In addition, you will manage the vendor relationship and train company personnel on the system
- Own company dashboards: ensure that management dashboards and other ongoing reports are delivered accurately and regularly and set up new reports as needed
- Advise and train product, business development, marketing, etc. on metric definition/implementation requirements for projects and testing methodology (what to measure, how to structure a test, etc.)
Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience of related experience in online reporting
- Proven analytics ability/ experience driving complex analytical projects with large data sets
- Experience with one or more web reporting packages (Omniture, Coremetrics, etc.)
- Ability to pull data directly from large databases and write complex queries in SQL
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Perl, Ruby, VB Script, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to manage data and analytical projects cross-functionally to achieve results
- A strong business sense with the ability to pay attention to detail while keeping "the big picture" in mind
- Knowledge of statistics including techniques for segmentation a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate findings
- A team player who enjoys work enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- College degree mandatory. Prefer candidates with an advanced degree in CS, Mathematics, Econometrics or similar field
